If you had told me years ago that I’d make it to this stage of my life, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Not because I didn’t want it, but because too many people around me made it their mission to convince me that I wouldn’t. Secondary school was hell for me. From SS1 to SS3, it felt like I was fighting invisible battles every day. Teachers who found joy in mocking me. A principal who never saw anything good in me. Hostel porters who treated me like I didn’t belong. And friends… friends I trusted, who turned into strangers overnight. There were days I’d cry myself to sleep. Nights I’d stare at the ceiling and wonder what I ever did wrong to deserve so much hate and mockery. I was called names. Laughed at. Told to my face that I wouldn’t make it in life.
